ダイバーシティ（多様性）を重んじ、生涯いきいきと楽器に親しめるサスティナブル（持続可能）な吹奏楽活動を！

　Virtual Wind Symphonyのホームページへようこそ。

　当団の歴史は、１９９５（平成７）年に「スクールバンドを卒業して、楽器を離れてしまったけれど、ブランクがあっても気軽に楽器を再び手に取り、自分のペースで参加できるバンド」という趣旨に賛同して集まった発起人で「VirtualWindSymphony」を結成したことに始まります。

　当時は、まだインターネットの黎明期で、世の中が令和となった現在のように気軽に情報交換できるSNSなど全く想像もつかなかったWebも始まったばかりの時代・・・ホームページも全てタグ打ちで作成して、光回線どころか2400bpsのモデムでアップロードするなど、現在では考えられないような時代でした。

　そんな時代の中にあって、メーリングリストやホームページを使ったインターネットでの情報交換と情報発信という「オンラインでの活動」と、みんなが集まって合奏練習するという「オフラインでの活動」を同時に行うスタイルは、当時は前例がなく、一つ一つが試行錯誤の連続でした。

　その内容も当時としては斬新なもので、「ブランクの長い人が気軽に演奏できる場」、そして「インターネットを利用した情報交換」という活動の二本柱を当初より掲げてのスタートとなりました。

　その後、インターネット環境は飛躍的に進化し、今でこそ、インターネットを利用した広報活動、そして、最近コミュニケーションツールとして欠かせないSNSの活用は、当たり前になっていますが、当時は、インターネットの黎明期。試行錯誤を繰り返しながらの楽団運営でした。

　「いつでも、いつまでも、自分に無理なく楽器を続けていける」当団の演奏の場は、まさに「生涯学習」の理念そのもので、持続可能な活動であると自負いたしております。

　そして、東京都一般吹奏楽連盟に加盟し、様々な事業に参加させていただくとともに、吹奏楽連盟の各事業や普門館で開催されていた東京都吹奏楽コンクールや全日本吹奏楽コンクール中学校の部・高等学校の部等に補助員として事業運営を経験させていただくなど貴重な機会を得て、連盟の諸先輩方から様々なことを学び、そして、多くの一般バンドの方々と交流する機会にも恵まれ、当団も、創団から２５年以上を迎えることができ、創団当初２０代だった主力メンバーも歳を重ねて４０代を超えました。

　時を経るに連れ、当初学生だったメンバーも就職や結婚や出産、子育てや介護、仕事のシフトが不定期・・・など、様々な事情により、創団当初のような活動が難しくなってきました。

　その一方、吹奏楽経験者の人口は２５年前より目に見えて増加していることを肌で感じながら、音楽の楽しさを経験しながらも学校の部活動を卒業して楽器から離れてしまう方も多いと実感しております。

　めまぐるしく時代が変化していく中、２５年あまりの経験を経て、未曾有のコロナ禍の中で、もう一度原点に立ち返り、吹奏楽コンクールやコンテストを目標とするのではなく、その他の様々な事業が充実している東京都一般吹奏楽連盟に加盟させて頂いている利点を活かしつつ、「どこか楽団に入りたいけれど、無理なく楽器を続けられるバンド」「学生時代、吹奏楽経験があり、楽器を持っているけれど今はもう吹いていない、でも、もう一度吹いてみたいという方々が再び楽器を手に取れるバンド」として活動してきた矜持を持って、東京都も基本計画の中で高らかに掲げている「ダイバーシティー（多様性）」を重視し、次の世代にバトンを繋げていけるような「サスティナブル（持続可能）な活動」を目指してまいります。

　最後に、当団の創団時から現在まで、いくつもの困難な時期を迎える中にあっても、いつも変わらず私達の活動を温かく見守り、支えて下さっている東京都一般吹奏楽連盟並びに東京都吹奏楽連盟と加盟団体はじめ関係者の皆様方に心よりお礼申し上げます。

Welcome to the Virtual Wind Symphony homepage.

The history of our band is that in 1995, "I graduated from a school band and left the instrument, but even if there is a blank, I can easily pick up the instrument again and participate at my own pace. It all started with the launch of "Virtual Wind Symphony" by the founders who agreed with the purpose.

At that time, the Internet was still in its infancy, and it was an era when I couldn't imagine an SNS where people could easily exchange information as it is now when the world became a reiwa era.

It was an era that was unthinkable now, such as creating a homepage with tags.

At that time, there was precedent for the style of conducting online activities such as "information exchange and information dissemination on the Internet using mailing lists and homepages" and offline activities such as "ensemble practice" at the same time. No, each one was a series of trial and error.

The content of the activity was also novel at that time, and it started from the beginning with the two pillars of activities, "a place where people with long blanks can easily play" and "information exchange using the Internet". ..

Since then, the Internet environment has evolved dramatically, and nowadays, public relations activities using the Internet and SNS activities that are indispensable as communication tools have become quite common, but at that time, the dawn of the Internet. Period. It was an orchestra management while repeating trial and error.

We take pride in the fact that our performance venue, where we can continue to play musical instruments without difficulty, is the very idea of ​​"lifelong learning" and is a sustainable activity.

Then, I joined the Tokyo 'Ippan' (civic) Band Association and participated in various projects. At the same time, I participated in various projects of the Tokyo Band Association and the Tokyo Metropolitan Band Competition and All Japan Band Competition Junior High School and High School held at Fumonkan. I was blessed with the opportunity to learn various things from the seniors of the federation and interact with many general bands by having valuable opportunities such as letting the department experience business management as an assistant. We have been able to celebrate more than 25 years since our founding.

However, the main members who were in their 20s at the beginning of the group have also grown older and have exceeded their 40s.

As time goes by, the members who were originally students also have difficulty in activities like when they were founded, due to various circumstances such as employment, marriage, childbirth, child-rearing and long-term care, and irregular work shifts. 

On the other hand, while feeling the fact that the population of wind band experienced people is visibly increasing from 25 years ago, while experiencing the joy of music, they graduate from school club activities and move away from musical instruments. I feel that there are many people.

Under such circumstances, after more than 25 years of formed, in the unprecedented COVID-19 Pandemic we will return to the origin once again, and instead of aiming for a  band competition or contest, Tokyo is full of various other events. While taking advantage of being a member of the All-Japan Band Association, "a band that wants to join an orchestra but can continue to play an instrument without difficulty" "I had experience in wind band when I was a student, but now I have an instrument With the pride that people who haven't played, but want to play again, can pick up the instrument again, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has raised "diversity" in its basic plan. We will aim for "sustainable activities" that can connect the baton to the next generation.

Lastly, the Tokyo Metropolitan  Band Association and the  Tokyo "Ippan"(civic) Band Association, which are always warmly watching and supporting our activities, even in the midst of many difficult times from the time of our founding to the present. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the parties concerned, including the Tokyo "Ippan"(civic) Band Association and its affiliated organizations.
